Need More Help?
- If you meet certain income levels, you may qualify for the Senior Community Services Employment Program. This is a federal program and will pay for training to help you learn new skills to find regular employment.
- You will be placed in a training slot, usually in a non-profit organization, school, or government office.
- You work 20 hours each week and receive minimum wage.
- You may be able to attend classroom training (work on your GED, take a college class, learn CPR, brush up on computer skills).
- We can assist you in writing a resume and learning successful job search skills.
- You may receive support services to help you in your job search:
- a bus pass or temporary gas card
- a medical check up
- clothes to wear to an interview
- proper shoes to wear on a job
- books needed for a class
- eyeglasses
- Participants are placed in positions that may involve food service, driving, retail and customer service, clerical, custodial, adult or child day care. If you have a specific interest or goal, we try to find the perfect training experience for you.
